Photography An Illustrated History

Way back in the yesteryear of 1888 a man named George Eastman came up with an compact or easy to use camera he used it on board The S.S. Gallia, 1890. Photography took off in the early 19Th century with the photo forms of Daguerreotype, and Calotype (1839-1841). The Daguerreotype named after Inventor Louis J Daguerre in 1839 shown to an limited audience at the time. Another Inventor William Talbot came up with Calotype he perfected his imaging techniques during a course of a year before being well known to the public.

Native Americans in photography was all the rage at many Fairs, and Expositions due to their ceremonial gowns, and Feathered Head Pieces. While in reservations the natives were paid to temporarily leave their limited homelands to attend the Exposition so photographers could take their photos. Main photographer Frank Rine-hart took Native American Themed photographs in 1898.

THE NATIVE AMERICANS═A Piece Of History---by OBZURV Documentary.

The trust he had with the native was strong as he grew up among them in his early youth and he was inspired by their intuitive approach to mother nature. Photographer August Sander originally planned to shoot a photo collection of the natives but the Nazi Regime in the height of WWW2 apparently raided his place and destroyed his hard work because the empire was not being represented in his photography fortunately August had hidden away a good stash of his photo work to be eventually distributed to Museums.
