Rw's 2 cents On: Vacant Lots

The small city of Fairfield Ca from above.

Hey folks this topic is about Vacant Lots. Most large Cities, and Small Towns have them also comes in various sizes. The thing is that certain Landowners would let their properties remain untouched for decades at a time because they want to wait for the right opportunity sell to developers for future redevelopment projects, or they simply have gotten the land by passed on rich relatives so these individuals don't know what to do with their land.

I think that these landowners can get more value $ from their properties by 1. Temp Homeless Housing Have Non Profit Organizations, and Small Business Owners create temporary housing, storage, restrooms/bathing facilities, mental health programs, and job programs to help get homeless people in the right direction to permanent homes if they choose to.

                                         Compton Ca.

( Once a fast food burger joint this restaurant has been vacant sinse the early 2000's. The land on Compton blvd belongs to the city's successor redevelopment agency.)

( A former night club on Compton blvd i am not sure when the business closed but it has been abandoned for years.)

 2. Recreational Vehicle Parking develop a temporary parking lot with restroom, bathing, and trash facilities for people who live and work in their RV's so they wont become a major blight in residential, and commercial areas.

 3. Community Gardens for example the Los Angeles city council is making plans to make it easier for owners to create community gardens in food desert neighborhoods so low income resident can have access to fruits and vegetables.

Even though Money, Zoning, Family, and other issues could make it difficult to create multi usage for these lands at least the landowners can make enough money to pay for taxes, and maintenance until the properties is developed.
